Energy-Monitoring & RTC Dongles (CR01 & CR02-W)

The Keilton+autani system offers two related USB dongles that each provide a battery-backed real-time clock (RTC) — so schedules run accurately even without internet — while serving different primary purposes:

  • CR01 — Energy-Monitoring & RTC dongle (indoor). Collects energy-consumption data for reporting, and synchronizes time across the zone.
  • CR02-W — Long-Range RTC dongle (outdoor). Adds astronomical sunrise/sunset scheduling and long-range coverage for outdoor sites.

Both are added from the Devices view — not the Lights or Switches page. Only one CR01 is needed per zone.

Scheduling: what each dongle supports

Both dongles keep accurate time for regular time-of-day schedules (e.g. "on at 6:00 PM every day"), created in Creating Schedules. Only the CR02-W supports astronomical sunrise/sunset schedules — calculated from the coordinates you enter and configured in the CR02-W's own device settings (see below).


CR01 — Energy-Monitoring & RTC Dongle

The CR01 collects energy-consumption data for all lights and controllers in a zone and generates energy reports through the Keilton+autani iOS app. Its embedded RTC (with internal battery) keeps accurate time across the zone, including through power outages.

microSD sizing

The CR01 writes one file per month named YYYYMM.txt. A 100-controller zone generates ~28 MB/month; for two years of retention use a card with ≥ 700 MB free, formatted FAT32, inserted before use.

Energy-monitoring workflow

  1. Add & commission lights — see Adding Lights.
  2. Enter rated power for each light (see below) — energy calculations depend on it.
  3. Add the CR01 to the zone (steps below).
  4. Collect the raw energy log periodically (monthly recommended) — import the microSD file into the app: More → Energy Monitoring → Import Raw Log, then select the log file. (Use a microSD reader, or copy the file to phone/iCloud first.)
  5. Export the energy reportEnergy Monitoring → Export Energy Report, choose the zone, building type, and date range, then save (e.g. to iCloud).

Enter rated power

Rated power is post-trim

Enter the wattage after top-trim is applied — e.g. enter 24 W for a 30 W luminaire at 80% top-trim.

  • Set per light on the light's dimming page (tap the wattage value, upper right), or
  • Set for all lights in a group from the group dimming page (this sets each light's power, not the group total). See Naming Lights & Setting Rated Power.

Add the CR01 to a zone

  1. Plug the CR01 into a USB power source.
  2. Navigate to the Devices view (More → Device Info, or the Discover → Devices tab).
  3. Tap Click to Add — the app searches for the powered-on dongle.
  4. Check the CR01, tap Add, then confirm.
  5. The dongle now appears on the Device Info page.

CR02-W — Long-Range RTC Dongle

The CR02-W is an outdoor, IP65-rated long-range dongle with an astronomical real-time clock. It calculates local sunrise/sunset times from the site's coordinates and drives scheduled ON/OFF actions accordingly, acting as the zone's time-synchronization hub. With the optional TX5 antenna it extends mesh range up to ~1,640 ft (500 m).

No automatic Daylight Saving Time

The CR02-W does not auto-adjust for DST. Once set to a time zone, the time stays fixed year-round — adjust manually for seasonal changes if required.

Adding the CR02-W to a zone

  1. Install the device with its antenna mounted per the specification, within range of other zone controllers, away from metal/concrete that blocks signal.
  2. In the Devices view, tap Click to Add, check the CR02-W when it appears, tap Add, and confirm.
  3. One CR02-W typically covers one zone — add another CR02-W or a signal booster if coverage is a concern, or use a higher-gain antenna.

Set location (longitude & latitude)

  1. On the Devices page, press and hold the CR02-W icon to open its configuration; tap the name to rename (optional).
  2. Tap Get to auto-detect and fill your coordinates, or enter latitude/longitude manually.
  3. Tap Set to send the location to the CR02-W. Accurate coordinates are required for correct sunrise/sunset calculation.

Create scheduled actions

Each CR02-W holds up to 16 actions (install two for up to 32).

  1. Select Add an action; name it and toggle it on.
  2. Choose Scheduled, then select whether to turn ON/OFF specific lights, groups, or scenes.
  3. Set time — a fixed time of day, or relative to sunset/sunrise with an offset: negative = before, positive = after (range −120 to +120 minutes).
  4. Set recurrence — run once or repeat on chosen days.
  5. Set fade time for a smooth transition.
  6. To remove an action, swipe left and select Delete.

Typical application — outdoor parking lot

Goal: all lights off during the day; perimeter 100% at night; interior lights 100% on motion / 30% without motion at night.

  1. Create a zone; add all lights and the CR02-W.
  2. Group G-Out (perimeter): disable motion & photocell sensors, set 100%.
  3. Group G-Mid (interior): enable motion, disable photocell, set T1/T2 delays with a 30% inactive level.
  4. On the CR02-W: enter coordinates, then create two actions — ON all groups 30 min before sunset, and OFF 30 min after sunrise, both repeating daily with a 5-minute fade.
