PPA109S Emergency Lighting & Additional Bridges¶
Overview¶
The Keilton+autani system includes specialized devices for emergency lighting control, building system integration, and mesh network extension. This article covers the PPA109S Emergency Controller, CR04 Inter-Op Bridge, BG01 485 Bridge, and RP0 Signal Booster.
PPA109S Emergency Lighting Controller¶
The PPA109S is a UL924-compliant Emergency Lighting Control Device that works with Keilton smart lighting controllers.

Adding the PPA109S¶
- Navigate to the Discover page (bottom navigation bar).
- Tap Devices in the top selector.
- Tap the + button.
- Select the PPA109S when it appears.
- Tap Add to confirm.
Configuring the PPA109S¶
- On the Discover page, with Devices selected, long press the PPA109S icon.
- The configuration page opens.
- Tap the device name to rename (optional).
Power Failure Action¶
Configure what happens when normal power fails:

Power Restore Action¶

Repeat Interval¶
Set a repeat interval to periodically reapply the emergency command. This prevents luminaires from accidentally dimming during emergency situations.
Default Configuration¶
Out of the box, the PPA109S sets the All Lights group to 100% and repeats every 5 seconds when normal power is interrupted, with no action when power is restored. Adjust these to meet the facility's UL924 emergency-lighting requirements.
Emergency Function Test¶
The PPA109S has a test button on its housing that simulates a normal-power failure so you can verify the emergency response. Press and hold the button to enter emergency mode; release it to return to normal lighting. A connector for an external push button is also provided for remote testing.
Warning
Do not connect the test-button connector to any load or input voltage.
CR04 Inter-Op Bridge¶
The CR04 connects your Keilton system to external building automation and demand response systems.

Adding the CR04¶
- Plug the CR04 into a USB port.
- Navigate to the Discover page (bottom navigation bar).
- Tap Devices in the top selector.
- Tap the + button.
- Select and add the CR04.
Configure Wi-Fi Settings¶
- On the Devices page, press and hold the CR04 icon to open its Wi-Fi configuration page.
- Enter the Wi-Fi SSID and password, leave DHCP selected, and tap Send to transmit the settings to the dongle.
- Tap Get IP Info to retrieve the assigned IP address (the dongle may take a few seconds to connect).
- Record the IP address for future use — or disable DHCP and enter a static IP instead.

BG01 485 Bridge¶
The BG01 provides RS-485 communication capability for integration with industrial protocol systems.

Adding the BG01¶
- Navigate to the Discover page (bottom navigation bar).
- Tap Devices in the top selector.
- Tap the + button.
- Select the BG01 when it appears.
- Add to your zone.
Check Light, Group & Scene IDs¶
RS-485 integration references devices by their numeric IDs. To look them up in the app, go to More → Light Info, then check the Lights, Groups, and Scenes tabs for their respective IDs.

RP0 Signal Booster¶
The RP0 extends mesh network coverage in challenging environments where wireless signals may not reach all fixtures reliably.
When to Use¶
- Large spaces with distant fixtures
- Areas with signal-blocking obstacles
- Installations with weak mesh connectivity
- Spaces with concrete or metal barriers
Adding the RP0¶
- Plug the RP0 into a USB port.
- Navigate to the Discover page (bottom navigation bar).
- Tap Devices in the top selector.
- Tap the + button.
- Select and add to your zone.
Critical: Zone Association¶
Important
The RP0 must be added to the zone being commissioned.
When moving to commission a different zone: 1. Delete the RP0 from the current zone 2. Add it to the next zone
The RP0 extends coverage only for the zone it's associated with.
Placement¶
Position the RP0 strategically between: - The main mesh network (well-connected fixtures) - Distant or poorly-connected fixtures
Resetting the RP0¶
Reset the RP0 when moving it between zones or troubleshooting connectivity. Three methods:
- Device Info — on the Devices page, tap the − button, select the RP0, and Delete (removing it from the zone resets it).
- Nearby Lights — More → Nearby Lights, swipe left on the RP0, and tap Reset (the zone must show Connected first).
- Reset button — press and hold the RP0's reset button for 3 seconds (fastest for resetting several units without the app).
Using the RP0 while commissioning, configuring, or updating¶
- Commissioning distant/high fixtures: reset the RP0 to factory settings, keep it within ~3 ft of your phone, and leave it powered — it relays between your phone and far fixtures.
- Configuring (groups, scenes, schedules, switches): add the RP0 to the zone you're configuring and keep it near your phone so commands reach every fixture.
- Mesh OTA firmware: update one strong-signal fixture first (it becomes the distributor), stay near it, and keep the RP0 powered — in factory settings for pre-commission updates, or added to the zone for in-service updates.
